Our food-grade gypsum powder is the ideal coagulant for making fresh, homemade tofu. Derived from natural minerals, gypsum binds the soy milk, producing smooth and creamy tofu with a greater calcium content.
Gypsum powder, otherwise known as calcium sulphate, doesn't impart any flavour on tofu, meaning that the tofu can be eaten fresh without any bitter or sour aftertastes that other coagulants may produce.
Our gypsum powder is packaged in 100% home-compostable zip lock bags and is shipped plastic-free.
150g of gypsum powder makes approximately 6.5kg of finished tofu.
